From the Cold War to now, the US arsenal has always been the largest, and the US and Soviet arsenals account for the vast majority of the world's nuclear arsenals. If the US now relies on its huge nuclear arsenal to include China in its so-called huge nuclear arsenal, and surpass the US, and put it in front of the world, it is obvious that magnifying China's "nuclear threat" has become an important weight for Trump.

It is true that in recent years, China has also carried out some nuclear improvements for its own needs, but the relevant policies we have implemented are purely defensive, not offensive. We are not as aggressive as the United States, and we have not carried out so-called nuclear deterrence in hot spots and local wars, including in the surrounding areas. But the United States is different, and Trump has not yet come to power, he has put forward his own ideas about China's nuclear weapons. It is obvious that he is the number one and no one can surpass him, but he insists that China can surpass him and become the number one nuclear power. This shows that the relationship between the United States and China will become hot in the nuclear field.

There are probably several reasons for saying this, don’t you think?

The first is to magnify the "China threat" and China must be targeted. If the US nuclear triad system is obviously outdated, it needs to be upgraded and replaced, and it needs to find more reasons and excuses for the future. The second intention is more sinister, and they are trying to drag China into nuclear disarmament. Because from the content of nuclear disarmament, the United States and the Soviet Union are the only two countries that are doing this. Other countries have too few nuclear arsenals, so they don’t need to do this at all. It’s limited, especially China. Now if we compare China’s nuclear arsenal with that of the United States, or even say that China wants to surpass the United States to become the world’s largest nuclear arsenal, the goal is to drag China into the field of nuclear disarmament and force China to do nuclear disarmament. We already have few nuclear arsenals, and if they drag us to reduce them, won’t that be even less? In this way, our own minimum defense level will be reduced.

The US goal is very simple, that is, if we need to reduce, everyone should reduce together. If the US has an absolute number, then it does not care if it reduces a little, but if other countries reduce, it will seriously endanger the nuclear security of these countries, including the overall national strategic security. So the US statement, Trump's statement, is actually a calculation. If China is forced to carry out nuclear disarmament as before, and carry out nuclear disarmament like the US and the Soviet Union, this is obviously unreasonable, because ours is the minimum limit, and the US is the maximum limit, and the nuclear arsenal is expanded beyond the limit.
