Be a good "vanguard" and start your career well

"Report, an unknown aerial situation has been discovered..."
Recently, a certain brigade of the Air Force of the Northern Theater Command organized an on-duty assessment for new platoon leaders. Faced with an unexpected special situation, the new platoon leader Yu Chengliang calmly adjusted the antenna speed, accurately captured the jumping light spots on the screen, accurately reported the target situation, and passed the assessment with excellent results.
"The results achieved are due to the guidance of professional backbones and the help of comrades around me." Yu Chengliang said excitedly after leaving the examination room.
After Yu Chengliang graduated from the military academy and was assigned to the brigade, he successfully passed the pre-job training and was assigned to a radar station to serve as a soldier and be included in the daily combat readiness duty group. Although he had internship experience during his time at school, Yu Chengliang still felt a little stressed when facing the heavy tasks, fast pace and high requirements of grassroots work. When he served as a radar operator for the first time and performed the target identification task, Yu Chengliang was a little overwhelmed.
The brigade's headquarters conducted a special investigation on the appointment of newly assigned cadres and found that most of the new platoon leaders who were assigned to the grassroots level in the early stage had similar situations as Yu Chengliang: they were not proficient in professional skills, had difficulty integrating into the grassroots... These situations affected the enthusiasm and self-confidence of the new platoon leaders in performing their duties.
"The new platoon leaders enter the camp right after they graduate from school and go to the battlefield right after they walk off the playground. Only by making up for the required course of 'grassroots' honestly first can they better integrate into the troops, get into the role, and grow into a qualified grassroots commander." The leaders of the brigade introduced that to this end, they made full use of the opportunity of the new platoon leaders to serve in the army and train, carry forward the fine tradition of "three major mutual assistance" of ideological mutual assistance, technical mutual assistance, and life mutual assistance, combine the expertise and characteristics of each new platoon leader, select professional backbones to carry out "one-on-one" assistance, and help them quickly realize the "five familiarities" of organizational deployment, air situation handling, equipment performance, duty regulations, and combat operations, and hone the "flavor of war" and train the "flavor of soldiers" in combat positions, accelerate their adaptation to positions, and integrate into combat positions.
Yu Chengliang had excellent grades during his school years. His first experience as an operator made him realize the importance of practical training. With the help of professional backbones, he practiced the air situation handling process in the simulated cabin and became familiar with equipment operation skills. After a period of specialized training, he has now basically mastered all the skills required for the operator position.
When the new platoon leader Lin Zhengnan first arrived at the radar station, he found it difficult to adapt to the sudden increase in training intensity. After discovering this, Sergeant 2nd Class and squad leader Li Zheng explained the glorious history of the radar station to him in depth, using the advanced deeds of the predecessors who were not afraid of challenges and dared to charge forward to encourage him to devote himself to training.
"Be a good 'vanguard' and start your career well!" Inspired by the deeds of his predecessors, Lin Zhengnan made up his mind to catch up. From physical fitness to skills, from sentry duty to errand duty, he calmed down and did his work in a detailed and down-to-earth manner, which was unanimously recognized by the officers and soldiers of the company.
"The new platoon leaders will be commanders on future battlefields. They must not only hone their skills in fighting, but also become 'wise men' in leading troops." The brigade leader said that after a period of careful guidance and job training, the new platoon leaders have made significant progress and their ability to perform their duties has been significantly improved.
