Buy a house within 3 days of returning home

"I've completed the biggest order of 'New Year's goods', and I feel relieved!" On January 21, Wang Mingdong was busy preparing for the New Year's goods, just one week after returning to his hometown. When talking about this year's harvest, his tone revealed excitement: on January 17, he just subscribed to a house.

Wang Mingdong is 34 years old and lives in Siping Village, Zilingpu Town, Dongbao District, Jingmen City. He works in Jilin all year round and comes back two or three times a year. "Ask how much subsidy you can get first, then look at the house." On January 15, Wang Mingdong returned to his hometown from Jilin, and the next day he hurried to learn about the subsidy policy. According to the policy, he can enjoy three subsidies: 40,000 yuan for families in non-central urban areas, 20,000 yuan for families with two children, plus a full exemption of deed tax for house purchases, saving a total of 70,000 yuan.

For Wang Mingdong, the 70,000 yuan housing subsidy is very "tempting", but he is also hesitant about whether it is reliable. On January 17, he decided to purchase a 137-square-meter new house in Yangfeng Shanshui Yunzhu, with a total price of 680,000 yuan. Wang Mingdong said that he planned to pay 50% of the down payment, less than 300,000 yuan. As the Spring Festival approaches, many people like Wang Mingdong have set a goal of buying a house as a New Year gift. On December 26 last year, the 2025 "Livable Hubei" Spring Festival Homecoming Home Buying Season was launched. Local governments targeted homebuyers and introduced new housing subsidy policies, moved exhibition areas and information desks to high-speed rail stations and buses, and provided better housing services for homebuyers.

Jingmen set up a housing exhibition area in the East Square of the West High-speed Railway Station, promoting nearly 10,000 high-quality houses and providing one-stop services for home buyers. Xiangyang opened two free bus lines for home buyers, passing through seven hot-selling projects under Xiangtou Real Estate, and provided home buyers with a New Year's housing discount package including selection of existing houses, additional discounts, and down payment installments.

Data provided by the Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development showed that as of January 20, 1,241 projects and 213,000 housing units across the province participated in the event, with 21,000 units sold, driving a 60.3% year-on-year increase in sales of newly built commercial housing since January.

Application process for housing purchase subsidies in some areas

Wuhan: Homebuyers who are eligible for housing subsidies for multiple children can pay the house price first, and then apply for the subsidy through the "An Ju Chain" APP platform after obtaining the "Real Estate Certificate".

Dongjin New District, Xiangyang City: Homebuyers who meet the incentive policy requirements must fill out an application form and attach relevant supporting documents. After preliminary and re-examination, the developer will deduct the amount from the house price.

Yichang City: Homebuyers who meet the reward and subsidy policy must first obtain qualification through the WeChat mini-program "Yicai Code". After signing the "Commercial Housing Sales Contract" with the developer and completing the online filing, the subsidy can be directly deducted from the purchase price, and the developer will then write off the corresponding amount of the "subsidy voucher".
