Later, some staff members of the hotel privately revealed that they had originally hung the Chinese national flag, but were asked by the hotel manager to remove it and then destroyed it, which shows that the Evergreen Laurel Hotel did it on purpose.

Next, netizens discovered that this hotel might be standing on the "Taiwan independence" position, because on the hotel website, they listed "Taiwan" as a so-called "country" along with other countries such as China.
