Evergreen, which once deliberately damaged the national flag and sent US tanks to Taiwan, made tens
To a certain extent, what we hate more than the "Taiwan independence" elements who frantically attack and smear us are those people or companies that make money from the mainland while smearing and "backstabbing" the mainland. After all, the former's position is "consistent", but the latter is indeed two-faced and wants to get all the benefits.
The Evergreen Group is such a company that is frantically making money from the mainland and promoting "Taiwan independence" and transporting American-made weapons to Taiwan for the DPP authorities. Of course, it will be despised. I am afraid that the good days of the Evergreen Group are coming to an end.
Transporting tanks to the island, Evergreen Shipping is on the hot search again
At the end of 2024, a hot news in Taiwan was that the M1A2T main battle tanks ordered by the Taiwan authorities from the United States arrived in Taiwan, which greatly excited the Taiwanese media. While praising it as the "strongest main battle tank on the surface of the earth", they also said that this was the first time that the Taiwan pseudo "army" had received new equipment in 30 years, which meant that the Taiwan pseudo "army" was finally moving towards modernization.
Of course, for the people on the mainland, what everyone cares most about is not the performance of the M1A2T, because after comparing it with our 99A2, everyone found that the M1A2T did not exceed our army's tanks in terms of comprehensive performance, and some of the data were far inferior to our army's 99A2, and it did not seem to pose any threat to us.
What we are more concerned about is who helped the Taiwan Democratic Progressive Party authorities transport these tanks to Taiwan?
Based on information from various sources, it was originally planned that this batch of tanks would be transported by Yang Ming Marine's "Ying Ming", but just before the transportation, Yang Ming Marine claimed that its ship was stranded and damaged in Keelung Port, so the tanks were finally transported by Evergreen Marine's EVER MILD cargo ship.
The outside world suspected that Yang Ming Marine Transport was only "cooperating" and "covering" Evergreen Marine in this incident, as Evergreen Marine was originally responsible for the transportation.
But no matter what, according to reports from Taiwan media, this batch of tanks arrived at the 7th Container Center of Kaohsiung Port after noon on December 13, and after being confirmed by safety facilities in the afternoon, they were lifted to the ground one by one by crane.
Afterwards, these main battle tanks were wrapped tightly and transported by land to the Army Armored Forces School in Hukou Township, Hsinchu County. In addition, media reports also showed that in addition to the M1A2T main battle tanks, Evergreen Shipping also transported four M88A2 armored repair vehicles.
The arrival of the M1A2T in Taiwan has greatly excited many "Taiwan independence" elements. They waited on the road late at night, took photos with the M1A2T, and posted them on social media to promote it. Some Taiwanese people are so confident that unless the PLA can "get the 99A tank to Taiwan", the other tanks will definitely be "destroyed" by the M1A2T.
Mainland netizens, however, have a different focus. They get furious when they hear the words "Evergreen Marine", because this is not the first time that Evergreen Marine has engaged in such "Taiwan independence" behavior. However, while they are promoting "Taiwan independence", they are also frantically making money from the mainland. They are simply using the mainland's money to "fight" the mainland.
Now, "Evergreen Shipping" has once again become a "hot search" on social media by angry netizens, who also claimed that such companies should be boycotted so that they cannot earn a penny from the mainland.
Earn tens of billions from the mainland and promote "Taiwan independence"
In fact, this is not the first time that Evergreen Group has been on the hot search list for promoting "Taiwan independence". The last time was during the Paris Olympics.
During the Paris Olympics, a netizen uploaded a video in which he said he was staying at the Evergreen Laurel Hotel in Paris. The hotel lobby was decorated with "flags of all nations" — the national flags of all participating countries in the Olympics — but there was no five-star red flag.
The netizen said that he immediately asked the hotel to hang the Chinese flag, but was rejected by the hotel management.
Later, some staff members of the hotel privately revealed that they had originally hung the Chinese national flag, but were asked by the hotel manager to remove it and then destroyed it, which shows that the Evergreen Laurel Hotel did it on purpose.
Next, netizens discovered that this hotel might be standing on the "Taiwan independence" position, because on the hotel website, they listed "Taiwan" as a so-called "country" along with other countries such as China. This may explain why the hotel's management is unwilling to hang the five-star red flag.
The incident immediately triggered a "hot search" on social media, with netizens condemning it and claiming that domestic companies should cancel their cooperation with the hotel.
Because this is a Taiwanese hotel, many Chinese people believe that choosing to stay here can avoid a lot of language troubles. Therefore, many Chinese people choose to stay in this hotel while watching the Paris Olympic Games.
In fact, it can be said that this hotel is making money from the Chinese people. They make money from the Chinese people, but are unwilling to hang the five-star red flag, which will certainly receive more condemnation.
Moreover, the hotel did not take it seriously at first. It was not until the matter continued to ferment, domestic official media criticized it, and the Chinese Embassy in France expressed its deep concern and strong condemnation, and many domestic hotel booking platforms removed the Evergreen Laurel Hotel from their shelves, that the hotel issued an apology statement that "avoided the important issues" in order to make money.
In the apology statement, they didn't even dare to mention what happened, and only said that they didn't want the incident to "affect the feelings of the people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait." This is enough to show that Evergreen Group has no sincerity in apologizing at all, and only did so "out of necessity" because they found that this incident affected their ability to make money.
The hotel business of Evergreen Group only accounts for about 5% of the group's revenue. The one that really makes big money from the mainland is Evergreen Shipping.
Evergreen Marine is a "big boss" in international freight, ranking seventh in the world, and the Evergreen Group is also listed as one of the top ten conglomerates in Taiwan.
Evergreen Group's service network consists of more than 240 branches in more than 80 countries around the world, with 20 branches and offices in mainland China alone.
Its annual report shows that Evergreen Group's profit in 2023 exceeded NT$276.7 billion (about RMB 61.372 billion), and half of the profit came from the mainland market. In other words, in 2021, the mainland market contributed hundreds of billions of yuan in profits to Evergreen Group.
At the end of 2022, it was revealed that Evergreen Group had issued a maximum year-end bonus of 52 months, which made many people envious for a while. We can also say that half of Evergreen Group’s high year-end bonus was "contributed" by the mainland.
A two-faced business cannot last long.
In fact, Evergreen Group was not like this in the past.
Chang Yung-fa of Evergreen Group started from scratch and, relying on an old ship, he opened up the Middle East route that others dared not easily venture into. In 1984, he created an unprecedented global east-west two-way all-container scheduled route, and established Evergreen's leading position in the global container ship business.
Chang Yung-fa himself is called a "patriot" by the Chinese media. When he visited the mainland in 2012, he publicly stated that he is both Taiwanese and Chinese, and he has donated money and materials many times when the mainland was in need.
During this period, although Evergreen Shipping also transported weapons and equipment to the United States, the mainland also turned a blind eye.
But after Chang Yung-fa's death in 2016, the reputation he had previously accumulated in the mainland gradually disappeared.
In addition to the "national flag incident" and the "tank transportation incident", Evergreen Group also caused controversy for giving a large number of orders to Japanese and Korean companies.
Most people believe that although Evergreen Group is a Taiwanese company and the mainland market has contributed a lot of profits to Evergreen Group, they gave a large number of shipbuilding orders to Japanese and Korean shipbuilders, which is really a "wrong behavior."
After all, China's shipbuilding industry is not inferior to Japanese and Korean companies in terms of technology and quotation. Evergreen Group's choice is almost certainly due to "political motives."
To a certain extent, perhaps people will only "admit" that they are Chinese when it truly affects their own interests.
Earlier, it was widely reported on the Internet that the Yemeni Houthi armed forces "blocked" the Red Sea, and only Chinese ships could pass through smoothly. Two ships of Evergreen Shipping flew the "Chinese flag" and claimed that "all the people on board were Chinese", and successfully passed through the Red Sea and completed their shipping mission. At this time, why didn't Evergreen Group "remove" the five-star red flag?
Of course, with Evergreen Shipping’s “double-dealing” behavior being exposed, it is no longer so easy for them to make money smoothly in the mainland.
It is reported that just after Evergreen Marine helped the Taiwan military transport tanks, an Evergreen Group cargo ship "Evergreen Diamond" was denied entry into Tianjin Port on the grounds that the ship did not fly the five-star red flag as required and the crew's relevant documents did not meet the requirements. Our country stipulates that Taiwanese cargo ships entering mainland and Hong Kong ports must fly the five-star red flag, and the political views of all crew members cannot include words such as "Taiwan" and "ROC", and can only use "Chinese Taipei" and "Taiwan Province of China".
This fully loaded ship has been drifting on the sea for several days, but has been unable to enter the port. Every day it drifts on the sea will mean another day of huge losses for Evergreen Marine.
It is said that Evergreen Marine wants to ask a third party to help "complete the documents" and fly the national flag when entering the port, but it seems that no one is willing to "help with this."
If the ship still cannot enter the port smoothly, Evergreen may face huge claims for breach of contract, which will cause greater losses to the Evergreen Group.
Our country's regulations have long existed and were not originally aimed at Evergreen Group, but they are very suitable for "dealing with" "two-faced" companies like Evergreen Group.
"Double-dealing" companies like Evergreen Group should not be allowed to earn a penny from the mainland. Only in this way can they know who is their real "breadwinner" and whether they can feed themselves or ruin the pot. #头条深一点#
